Dear Cooper Team:
On Monday, September 19, 2022, between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Cooper University Health Care is holding a special press event on the corner of Haddon Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. We are expecting a few hundred guests during that time period, which will affect traffic around our campus and parking in our garages. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience.
Due to the number of guests, parking for some Cooper team members will be affected. Although the event traffic is being coordinated, we are anticipating heavy traffic and pedestrian congestion before, during, and after this event.
To ensure a seamless experience for our patients, team members, and guests, we are asking for your cooperation and support with the following:
- On Monday, September 19, Cooper leaders (supervisors and above) who are assigned to Hospital (CCIA) and Sheridan (Haddon) Garages will be directed to park in the Medical School Garage for the day.
- Cooper team members who are assigned to the Hospital or Sheridan Garages can park as usual in their assigned garages. However, Cooper team members (non-leaders) who wish to avoid some of the event congestion may park at the Walter Rand Transportation Center (located on MLK Blvd. at the arrows below) free of charge. As an added incentive, team members who park in the Rand Transportation Center will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. To receive the gift card, team members must email Lynn Santore prior to Monday. There are 150 parking spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may pick up your gift card on Monday in the Security Office on the ground floor of the Roberts Pavilion, across from the Medical Library.
Additional law enforcement and Cooper security personnel will be on-site to help manage the event and traffic. Again, we know this increase in traffic will create some inconvenience on Monday, which we have tried to minimize. We apologize in advance, but this is an important and exciting announcement about our future plans.
