One of our top IT priorities this year is implementing Epic and Sunquest Lab platforms at Cape Regional. Due to diligent work by many of our Cooper team members, we pleased to announce target to go-live is on time for October 1, 2024.
To ensure a successful and timely implementation, we are instituting a system-wide Epic build freeze from September 1 to October 15, 2024.
During the month of September, we have several key milestones with the implementation to meet our deadline, which limits the ability to make other code and build changes in Epic. Additionally, once we go Live on October 1, 2024, we will operate a Command Center for the first two weeks of October that requires Epic to be in a controlled environment. During the build freeze, we will limit code and build changes that impact patient care, as well as critical provider, clinical support staff, and end-user workflow changes.
Non-essential requests, including go-lives of other new locations and expansions, will need to be planned around these dates so that focus remains on the success of our Cape Regional Epic Implementation. Please partner with IT by planning your growth and strategy timelines around these dates. Any new Epic Department requests should be submitted by August 7th. IT will work with each business area to prioritize incoming requests in lieu of Cape Regional priorities.
