The HealthSportsTech (HST) Conference was created to establish a forum which allows participants to explore the emerging technologies and solutions at the convergence between sports, health, innovation, and entertainment, while underscoring the critical importance of data and its management.
Cooper’s own Drs. Kirchhoff, Baston, Pradhan, Sabia, and Lemon were at the inaugural HST Conference and presented a pain management panel entitled, “Pain Management…Fixing the Past, Creating the Future.”
Moderated by Michael Kirchhoff, MD, Cooper’s Chief Innovation Officer, the panel consisted of:
- Kaitlan Baston, MD, Division Head of Addiction Medicine, who discussed advances in addiction treatment as well as the regulatory environment around addiction and pain.
- Basant K Pradhan, MD, Founding Program Director Neuromodulation, Psychedelics & Mindfulness (NIIP) Fellowship, who discussed advances in pharmacotherapies as well as new integrated multimodal approaches to pain, addiction, and PTSD.
- Michael Sabia, MD, Division Head of Pain Management, who discussed advances in technology and implantable pumps and stimulators.
- Neal Lemon, PhD MBA, Director Cooper Innovation Center, who discussed securing future treatments through intellectual property management and technology transfer.
In addition to the panel, Cooper Innovation Center’s Director, Neal Lemon, was one of four judges for a sport tech-related shark tank competition. The winners were announced after the conference at Microsoft’s Technology Center across from the Penn State Campus in Malvern, PA.
