Dear Cooper Team:
Earlier today, the Leapfrog Group released its national hospital safety grades, which it does twice a year. We are pleased to share that Cooper University Health Care has earned its first-ever “A” Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog. This national distinction celebrates Cooper’s achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors.
We want to thank everyone for this great achievement, especially since Leapfrog methodology does not account for socioeconomic and acuity differences that negatively affect academic tertiary care health systems grades. What makes this success even more special is that the new grades reflect our performance primarily during the height of the pandemic. During the most challenging time in health care, Cooper’s team rose to the occasion. Great work.
Congratulations on this success. Let’s stay an “A.” Let’s stay focused on providing a consistently safe and superior health care experience for our patients and their families – the same experience we would want for our own families.
Thank you for your commitment to making Cooper the best place to be a patient, the best place to work, and the best place to learn and practice medicine.
