The Philadelphia sports teams are going strong. The Phillies won game one of their playoff series against the Braves yesterday and the Eagles are the only undefeated team in the NFL and up against the Cowboys on Sunday night. In celebration, Cooper team members (if appropriate for you) may wear their favorite sports jersey this Friday, October 14, 2022. What You Should Know This Week:
- It is Emergency Nurses Week. The theme for this year’s Emergency Nurses Week is “Standing Strong,” which Cooper’s emergency nurses do no matter the challenges they face. Thank you to our emergency nurses for your dedication to the highest quality of care to our patients and for the vital role you play at Cooper.
- It is National Physician Assistant Week. National Physician Assistant Week takes place every year from October 6 through October 12. Physician assistants (PAs) are vital members of the team of professionals who treat patients in today’s complex health care setting. We appreciate your dedication. To learn more, click here.
- Monday was World Mental Health Day. Cooper is committed to making emotional and physical well-being a priority. - Upgrades to the hospital garage (CCIA) elevators will be complete within the next six weeks. Long-term plans are in place for additional elevators to ensure they operate safely and efficiently and are in good working order for years to come. We will provide updates as they become available.
- Epic upgrade coming. On Sunday, October 23, 2022, Epic will be upgraded to the February 2022 version. The update includes some routine fixes and a few exciting improvements. For more information, click here.
Reminders:
- We are making significant progress with our paving project at our vaccination site on the corner of Broadway and Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. and we should restore normal business hours for COVID-19 testing and vaccination beginning Monday, October 17, 2022. Thank you for your patience.
- Nominate a team member for 2022 Armed Forces Person of the Year. In 2018, Cooper established the Military Person of the Year Award – now called the Armed Forces Person of the Year Award – to honor a deserving team member who has made significant contributions to Cooper or in the community. - The 2022 Flu Vaccination Program will continue until Wednesday, December 7, 2022. The flu shot clinic schedule is here. You can receive a COVID-19 booster shot at any of the flu shot clinic locations – no appointment is necessary. Click here for more information and for exemption information.
