What You Should Know This Week:

  • Paid Internship Opportunity. Cooper team members are invited to apply for the 2025 Critical Care Technician Paid Internship Program, which begins on February 11, 2025. Applications are due by Friday, December 27, 2024. As class size is limited, we encourage you to apply early. Click here for more information.
  • Connecting Individuals to Community Resources. CooperUnite is a software tool designed for Cooper team members and community members to identify free and low-cost community-based resources that address food, housing, transportation, and more. Click here to watch a short training video.
  • Cooper Foundation Board Member Sal Paolantonio Inducted Into National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame. ESPN correspondent Sal Paolantonio, a dedicated member of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees and Moorestown resident, was inducted into the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame during the organization’s 45th Annual Gala in Chicago.   • 12th Annual Camden Scholars’ Forum (CSF) Poster Contest. The Cooper Research Institute invites you to participate in the 2025 CSF Poster Contest, celebrating outstanding achievements in research and quality improvement. All eligible abstracts and posters will be judged by faculty and scored for excellence. The application website will go live on March 7, 2025.   • This Week Is Antibiotic Awareness Week. The global threat of anti-microbial resistance has been identified in all regions of the world. Click here to learn more about this annual observance highlighting the critical threat of antibiotic resistance and the importance of appropriate antibiotic use to prevent its rapid spread.   • Narrative Medicine Workshop. Join the Edward D. Viner Center for Humanism for a Narrative Medicine Workshop on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome. Click here for more information.
  • Looking to Support Families in Need This Holiday Season? Join us in celebrating Cooper Trauma’s 16th Annual Season of Hope and Healing by making a donation to the Trauma Center’s Snowflake Fundraiser. Click here to support the families of trauma patients during their hospital stay by purchasing a “snowflake” in honor or in memory of someone special.
  • Cooper at Cape Foundation’s Tree of Remembrance. You can also purchase an ornament or a light for the for the Tree of Remembrance in honor of a loved one, which will be displayed throughout December in the main entrance of Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional.   • Gratitude Is the Attitude. There are many benefits of practicing gratitude, both mental and physical. This holiday season, we are asking all Cooper team members to pause and reflect on positive things in their lives and share them with the greater Cooper community on our virtual gratitude wall here.

  • Cooper Events From Cape to Camden. See them all here.
  • Open Enrollment Has Begun. This year’s open enrollment for health benefits for all Cooper team members ends on November 27, 2024. For Cooper at Camden team members, enrollment is passive with no cost increase to team members, meaning you do not need to take action unless you want to enroll in a flexible spending account . For details, click here. Cooper at Cape team members should refer to the email they received for their health benefit details.
  • PTO Sell Back. The November 2024 paid time off (PTO) sell-back opportunity for Cooper at Camden team members is almost here. Requests must be completed through iCooper Team Member Space between November 25 and December 9, 2024. Payment will be made on Friday, December 13, 2024. For more information, click here. Cooper at Cape team members will receive PTO cash-out communications based on their established schedule.
  • Let Your Warmth Be Felt. Cooper’s Community Outreach team is collecting new coats, gloves, and blankets for adults and children from now until Friday, December 6, 2024. Click here for drop-off locations.
  • ADHD: Solving the Youth Mental Health Crisis. The Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Department invites you to an engaging talk addressing ADHD and the youth mental health crisis on December 6, 2024, from noon to 2 p.m. at Cooper University Hospital, Conference Center Room 103.
