Co-CEO Update – July 23, 2025

Dear Cooper Team:

We hope everyone is doing well and having a safe and healthy summer. We appreciate your unwavering dedication to our patients, community, and one another.

What You Should Know This Week:

  • ID Badge Reminder. In accordance with NJ Department of Health regulations, Cooper policy requires team members to always wear their ID badge in Cooper facilities. Additionally, the ID badge must be “in clear view” and should be worn at collar level, facing forward, and not on a belt or waist level. Primarily, this is a safety issue to ensure security guards, colleagues, patients, and visitors can quickly and easily identify you as a Cooper team member. Having your ID badge close to eye-level also makes it less awkward for others to easily identify you. See Cooper’s ID Badge policy here.
  • Congratulations to the Q1 Good Catch Winner – Kimberly Saunders. Kim, a medical assistant at Cooper’s Moorestown Campus, demonstrated exemplary use of High Reliability Organization Behaviors and Error Prevention Tools to prevent an unsterile procedure that could have resulted in potential patient harm. • Kudos to Our Nursing Professional Development Team. We’re proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of several Cooper team members who have successfully completed the live Certification Preparation Course offered by the Association for Nursing Professional Development. Congratulations to: Jillian Curnew, MSN, RN-BC, NPD-BC; Patrick Matlack, JD, MSN, RN, CNL, NPD-BC; Renee Cherfane, MS, MSN, RN, NPD-BC; and Erin Smargisso, MSN, RNC-OB, NPD-BC who passed the course. • May Clean Floors Be With You. Thank you to everyone who participated with creative entries in the survey to name Cooper’s newest robotic recruits. Say hello to R2-Clean-2, our floor sweeper, and Obi-Wan-Cleanobi, the floor scrubber—on an epic mission to take down Dirt Vader and keep our spaces spotless. These bots are joining forces with Cooper’s Environmental Services team to enhance cleaning across public areas. If you spot one in action, snap a photo and share it on Pulse+. Click here to see a picture of them. Both have a QR code on them, which brings you to their webpage.
  • Camden Residents Graduate Into the Trades to Build Cooper’s “Project Imagine.” Thirty-three Camden residents are stepping into the future with hard hats in hand as they graduate from the second class of the Camden Gateway Pre-Apprenticeship Program, officially joining local building trades unions to help construct Cooper’s transformative campus expansion, Project Imagine. • Celebrating MRI Safety Week. From inpatient to outpatient locations, our board-certified MRI technologists bring expert care and deep knowledge of implant safety to every scan. Thank you to our dedicated team members and all who play a part in this process before patients even arrive. Your collaboration helps us deliver the safest, highest-quality imaging care possible.
