Co-CEO Message – September 4, 2024

Dear Cooper Team:

We hope everyone is having a good week and that you are ready for a new academic year. Thank you for all the work you’re doing to care for our patients, community, and each other.

What You Should Know This Week:

  • Another First in Cancer Care. Surgical oncologists at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper recently became the first in New Jersey and the Philadelphia region to treat a patient using histotripsy, an innovative, noninvasive technology that uses sound waves to destroy cancerous liver tumors. This makes MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper one of only 20 cancer centers worldwide to offer this treatment. Click here to read more.
  • The Future of Women’s Health. Join us on Saturday, September 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Moorestown for an all day, expert-led discussion and workshops focused on insights and innovations for women’s health. For more information, click here.
  • Celebrating Women in Medicine Month. Follow along on Cooper’s social media pages to see who will be highlighted. For more information or to join WIM, click here.
  • Safety and Engagement Survey Ahead. Our Annual Culture of Safety and Engagement Survey will be distributed in October again this year. This survey allows you to enhance The Cooper Experience by helping us identify opportunities to implement positive changes. Please check here for updates and information as we get closer. Your input in this anonymous survey helps us safely improve our patient and team member experience.
  • #everyBODY Moves at New PCS Orientation. During Patient Care Services (PCS) orientation, the Rehabilitation team introduced the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion program and demonstrated safe patient handling techniques to improve outcomes and prevent injuries for inpatients. Thank you to all the teams involved for your dedication to enhancing the patient experience. Click here to see pictures of our team in action.
  • Be Prepared, Not Scared. September is National Preparedness Month. Once again, team members are raising awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies. FEMA, Ready.gov, and Cooper’s own Division of EMS/Disaster Medicine are valuable resources to help you stay prepared.
