COVID Updates:
- COVID-19 Bivalent Boosters Are Now Available at Cooper. The FDA, CDC, and New Jersey Department of Health are recommending COVID-19 bivalent booster shots for individuals ages 12 and older, at least two months after their most recent booster or primary series.
- The bivalent booster vaccine has the ability to make antibodies against the original COVID-19 and omicron strains. It is projected that the bivalent immunization will prevent substantial hospitalization and death during the coming winter months.
- Cooper is offering the bivalent booster at the vaccine tent in Camden and at all ambulatory locations. Appointments are available in MyCooper. For more details on nuanced clinical guidance, please refer to Interim Clinical Considerations for Use of COVID-19 Vaccines | CDC.
- Yesterday, New Jersey reported another 1,587 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 8 new confirmed deaths. The seven-day average for confirmed positive tests was 1,436 on Wednesday, a 10% increase from a week ago and a 34% decrease from a month ago. For more information, click here.
