Co-CEO Message – November 29, 2023

Dear Cooper Team:

We hope you are having a safe and productive week. Thank you for all you are doing to keep our patients, community, and each other safe.

What You Should Know This Week:

  • The new Cooper Moorestown Campus is officially open. Thank you to our extraordinary team for making this venture a success. To view the full press release, click here. To see pictures from our team member open house and watch a walkthrough video of Cooper’s largest ambulatory location, click here.
  • Time Change and Safety. With the change in seasons, the sun sets earlier. We remind all Cooper team members to be safe when walking outside in the dark. We encourage you to walk with other team members when possible and stay aware of your surroundings. If other team members are not around, please call the Security Command Center at 856-342-2400 (add this number in your phone) and request a security escort. For more information and tips, click here to read the Security Corner Update on the Pulse.
  • Cooper Parking Decal Relocation. The parking office is requesting that anyone who parks at Cooper’s main campus in Camden move their automatic vehicle identification tag, or parking window decal, to the top left corner of their windshield. This is on the driver’s side, just below where the oil change sticker reminder may be. For more information, click here.
  • A Thanksgiving holiday meal tradition continued this year thanks to the generosity of an anonymous family and group of prominent Camden organizations that joined forces to bring holiday cheer to 1,500 Camden senior citizens. Click here to read more.
  • Antibiotic Awareness Week. This week is the annual observance related to the threat of antibiotic resistance and the importance of appropriate antibiotic use. To learn more about Cooper’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Team and the important work they do to minimize antibiotic resistance and improve outcomes on a patient, hospital, and global level, click here.
  • TOMORROW! The Joint Commission will be on-site for a two-day recertification survey of our Comprehensive Stroke Program on November 30 and December 1, 2023. The surveyors will travel throughout the hospital to all areas that provide care to our stroke patients, and all team members in any area of the hospital should be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and what to do if they think someone is having a stroke. Click here to lean more, or visit the banner on the homepage of the Pulse.
  • Vote for Cooper’s Q3 Good Catch Winner! A “Good Catch” is a potential error that never reaches the patient because of identification by one of our team members. To view and vote for this quarter’s nominees, click here, or visit the Pulse homepage.
