Dear Cooper Team:
Thank you for all you do for our patients, their families, and for each other. Please stay safe and healthy.
What You Should Know This Week:
- Armed Forces Person of the Year. During a special ceremony earlier this week, Dr. Kristin Knapp, a third-year general surgical resident and an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves, was named the 2022 Cooper Armed Forces Person of the Year. The award recognizes a Cooper team member who has made outstanding contributions to the health system, the community, and the nation in support of Cooper’s mission: To serve, to heal, to educate. - Improved Leapfrog Grade. We are pleased to report that our Fall 2022 Leapfrog Grade, which was publicly released today, improved to a “B.” Our raw score has also improved due to the outstanding work being done by our team. We thank everyone who helped us improve our current grade and the work being done on our “Way to an A.” We are grateful for everyone’s commitment to improve patient safety, reduce infections, and elevate the Cooper Experience.
- Antibiotic Awareness Week begins this Friday. This annual observance highlights the threat of antibiotic resistance and the importance of appropriate antibiotic use. Test your knowledge about antibiotics by answering a trivia question on Pulse+ this Friday – if you answer correctly, you could win a prize.
- Hospital shuttle pick-up and drop-off area on MLK Blvd. has been relocated temporarily while the Roberts Pavilion steps are repaired. The temporary pick-up location is approximately 50 feet from the normal location. We appreciate your patience while we continue to make improvements across the campus.
