Dear Cooper Team:
Happy National Nurses Week and Hospital Week. We hope you are enjoying all of the planned activities and we look forward to seeing you at this Friday’s block party.
What You Should Know This Week:
- On Monday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed the Health Care Heroes Violence Prevention Act, which aims to protect all employees in health care settings throughout the state by increasing penalties (imprisonment and fines) for those who threaten or commit acts of violence against health care workers. Cooper played a major role in spearheading this important legislation and we appreciate our legislative leaders and Governor Murphy working to protect health care workers. - Congratulations to Kelly Campbell, BSN, RN, recipient of the William A. Schwartz, Jr. Nurse of the Year Award, and Kelemen 10 Medical/Surgical Unit, the Team of the Year. Thank you all for providing compassionate and high-quality care to our patients every day. To read more, click here.
- Thank you to our incredible Cooper nurses for all that you do to serve our patients and each other. We hope you’re having a wonderful National Nurses Week! For the full schedule of Nurses Week activities, click here.
- Congratulations to all of Cooper’s “Top Docs.” The region’s leading magazines have recognized our physicians year after year for their hard work and dedication to patients and peers every day. To view our 2023 top docs so far, click on the links below:

Reminders:
- This week we updated our masking policy. This is in response to decreasing transmission rates of COVID-19 and the significant decrease in the proportion of COVID-19 positive patients who require hospitalization, and is in line with guidance from the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health. Click here for the masking changes.
- This week is National Hospital Week. To celebrate, we have an array of celebratory events planned that we hope you will participate in and enjoy. Thank you for all that you do to create a positive experience for our patients, the community, and each other. For the full schedule of events, click here.
- Cooper will soon begin sharing star ratings for all physicians and providers who treat patients in an ambulatory setting. Our anticipated May 11 launch has been delayed by a vendor issue. We will let you know our new launch date next week. For more information, click here.
