Dear Cooper Team:
We hope everyone is having a good week. Thank you for all you are doing to care for our patients, community, and each other.
What You Should Know This Week:
- Cooper and Cape Regional One Step Closer. We are happy to report that as part of the regulatory review of our proposed integration with Cape Regional, the New Jersey Attorney General has written to the New Jersey Superior Court and “recommends” that the Court find that the requirements of the law (CHAPA) “have been satisfied with regard to the acquisition…”Additionally, as required by law, the Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health wrote to the New Jersey Attorney General stating that the transaction will not “result in the deterioration of the quality, availability, or accessibility of health care services in the impacted community.” The final state regulatory hurdle is approval by the New Jersey Superior Court. Once approved, Cooper and Cape Regional will determine a closing date. We want to thank all the teams working diligently on the implementation of this transaction. There is still much more to do and we will communicate more information as we get closer to the closing in the next few months.
