Dear Cooper Team:
We want to wish you a happy and healthy new year. Thank you for all you are doing to keep our patients, community, and each other safe.
What You Should Know This Week:
- Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is now administering Cooper’s health benefits plan. Cooper’s health benefits have not changed. However, Horizon BCBSNJ is our new health benefits administrator and Prime Therapeutics is our new pharmacy benefits administrator. If you are enrolled in Cooper’s health plan, you should have received new Horizon identification cards last month (cards only have your name on them, not your spouse or dependents). The new Horizon ID cards are for both health and pharmacy benefits. You will need to show the new Horizon ID card when you visit your physician or pharmacy. To register your account with Horizon, check enrollment status, and more, please click here.
- Kickstart your wellness goals in the new year. Cooper is now offering a corporate gym membership with the Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center. This partnership offers an extensive range of resources and incentives for Cooper team members to use at their convenience. To learn more, click here.
- Congratulations to all the holiday decorating contest winners. We enjoyed seeing your creative posts on Pulse+. To see the 2023 holiday tree and snowman winners, click here.
- Join the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. On Monday, January 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cooper is partnering with the Food Bank of South Jersey to distribute non-perishable and ready-to-eat food items to Camden County residents to help combat food insecurity. - Congratulations to Cooper’s Respiratory Therapy Department — one of only 29 recipients to receive the American Association for Respiratory Care’s 2024-2025 Apex Recognition Award. This prestigious award – a first for Cooper – distinguishes programs for their commitment to excellence in professional development, evidence-based care, patient safety, and quality improvement. - COVID-19 on the rise. Unfortunately, COVID-19 cases are on the rise and there have been several cases among Cooper team members. Please remember to call Employee Health (856-342-2077) if you test positive for COVID-19 or have a high-risk exposure to COVID-19.

- Please join us for the Mindfulness and Mystery series, a virtual option for engaging in mindfulness exercises led by a “mystery” Cooper team member. Listen to the mindfulness exercise and guess the identity of the mystery team member. For additional information and to participate for a chance of winning a prize, click here.
- As part of our #everyBODYmoves campaign, Cooper has been participating in the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion to help combat any harm patients may face due to immobility during their hospital stay. To see how the program is working, click here.
