Dear Cooper Team:

We hope this year is getting off to a good start and you are having a safe and productive week. Thank you for all you do for our patients and each other.

What You Should Know This Week:  

  • This Sunday marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year, “one of the most important celebrations of the year among East and Southeast Asian cultures.” To all those who celebrate, we send our best wishes for a happy and healthy year!
  • Cooper recently honored Internal Medicine residents Dr. Ricky Orozco and Dr. Kat Kaminski, and fourth year Cooper Medical School of Rowan University student Anil Bhatnagar, with the Cooper Heroism Award for saving the life of a man who collapsed in a restaurant.   • Cooper’s Event and Activity Reporting System – also known as EARS – has a new form for reporting violent events, including verbal abuse, threats of violence, physical violence, stalking, and threatening behavior. To access EARS, visit Quick Resources on the Pulse. Click here to learn more.
  • Starbucks will offer extended hours twice a month. Beginning Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the Starbucks located in the lobby of Roberts Pavilion will offer extended hours from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. – on the first and last Tuesdays of every month. For more information, click here.
  • CMSRU Story Slam. All are invited to hear Cooper University Health Care and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) team members read stories about their “Connection in Medicine” at the CMSRU auditorium on February 2, 2023, and vote for the winner. COVID Updates:

  • New Jersey reported another 1,483 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 15 confirmed deaths. For more information, click here. The CDC Community Level for Camden County is currently HIGH requiring masks in all Cooper facilities.

  • Theme of the Week: This Monday, January 23, 2023, is Maternal Health Awareness Day. In 2017, New Jersey became the first state in the nation to designate a day to raise awareness of maternal health, safety, and mortality issues. A table will be set up in the Roberts Pavilion Lobby from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday to bring awareness to these issues.
