Dear Cooper Team:
We hope everyone is having a good week. Thank you for all you are doing to care for our patients, community, and each other.
What You Should Know This Week:
- Young Ki Hong, MD, MPH, FACS, FSSO, was featured in FOX 29’s Good Morning Philadelphia this morning, where he and his patient discussed the success of the new advanced melanoma treatment using tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy. MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper was the first site in the world to offer a clinical trial for this therapy, which was recently approved by the FDA. To watch the segment, click here. - Do You Know the Capital of Alaska? Tune into the latest episode of Out in the Crowd With Mazz and O’Dowd to learn the identity of our special guest, who may hold the record for being involved in “car births” outside of Cooper. Click here to listen.
- Congratulations to Alexis E Pelletier-Bui, MD, Associate Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program, for being elected to the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine’s Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 term. Dr. Pelletier-Bui will serve as a member-at-large, representing emergency medicine and Cooper on this prestigious national platform.
- Final Black History Month Marketplace. Tomorrow is the last chance to attend the marketplace event from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in front of the hospital gift shop. Thank you to all who have come out and shown support all month long for black-owned businesses within our community.
- Go Blue This Friday. All team members are encouraged to join MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper by wearing blue to show their support and raise awareness during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Be sure to share your pictures to Pulse+.
- Nationwide Cyberattack – What You Need To Know. Last week, Change Healthcare was hit by a cyberattack that has affected the ability for patients across the nation to fill prescriptions. The attack did not affect Cooper’s IT systems; however, the ability for pharmacies to fill prescriptions has been affected, as well as our ability to process medical claims and obtain authorizations. If your pharmacy is unable to fill your prescription because they cannot verify your insurance, consider using a national chain pharmacy such as CVS or Walgreens. For more information, click here.
- Visitor Parking Discounts. Visitors are eligible for a parking discount if the person they are visiting has been hospitalized for 11 or more continuous days. Please remember to make our visitors aware of this discount and direct them to the Roberts Pavilion visitor desk to have their parking pass validated. For more information on visitor parking, click here.
- ServiceNow Portal Updates. Thank you to the Cooper IT team for updating the ServiceNow portal and making the site even more user-friendly. Click here to see the changes.
- 11th Annual Camden Scholars’ Forum Poster Contest. Contestants may submit applications and projects online starting Friday, March 8, 2024. Please click here for more information.
- CooperUnite’s Assessment-Informed Launch Is Live. The Assessment-Informed Launch, a new feature offered through CooperUnite, allows Cooper team members to easily assess a patient’s needs for essential services such as food, shelter, health care, employment, and financial assistance, and to search for resources within the Epic patient chart. - ZZZzz. Want better sleep? Click here for tips from Carebridge on how to create a sleep routine that will help you wake up refreshed and energized.
- QR Code Pilot for EVS Requests. That Was Easy. For a quick way to make environmental services (EVS) requests, look for the QR codes posted in several of the public restrooms in the main hospital. This pilot program allows team members to simply scan the code to notify EVS for any needed services.
