9th Annual Berkowitz Family Foundation Lecture

The 9th Annual Berkowitz Family Foundation Lecture was held at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) on November 15, 2021, and was presented by the Berkowitz Family Foundation, Cooper University Health Care, The Cooper Foundation, and CMSRU.

Speakers Anthony Rostain, MD, MA, Chief and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Cooper University Health Care and Emily Damuth, MD, Division of Critical Care Medicine, Cooper University Health Care, hosted an engaging discussion entitled: Bearing Witness to Suffering: How the Coronavirus Pandemic is Transforming Critical Care Medicine.

The lecture series is generously funded by The Berkowitz Family Foundation, located in Merion, PA. The Foundation was created to support a variety of philanthropic activities with a special interest in medical ethics and humanism in medicine. The gift to The Cooper Foundation was from Mr. Edwin Berkowitz, a successful businessman and philanthropic leader in the Delaware Valley. He passed away in January 2016 from cancer. The lecture series is continued in his memory.
