What You Should Know This Week:
- First Active Shooter Preparedness Seminar is Friday. Cooper’s Security Department, in conjunction with New Jersey’s Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, will host two seminars in the next two weeks about active shooter preparedness. The seminars will be available virtually and in person on a first-come, first-served basis. The seminars will take place this Friday, September 9, and next Thursday, September 15, 2022. - Wellness survey. We relaunched our Well-being Committee earlier this summer to focus on four key areas: physical health and well-being, emotional support and well-being, professional development, and financial well-being. You can help the Committee as they plan for the future by taking a short survey by clicking here.
- Email Security Alert. Please be extra cautious when opening, forwarding, or responding to email, as Cooper IT has identified an increased chance that spam messages will reach our inboxes. If you have received any suspicious email, please report them to spam-alert@cooperhealth.eduor delete the email. If you have any questions, please email informationsecurity@cooperhealth.edu.
- Workplace Violence Prevention Program: Cooper’s Violence Prevention Committee is developing strategies to prevent and respond to workplace violence and providing practical resources for Cooper team members. Reminders:
- Through September 29, 2022, representatives from Warner Communications will be calling Cooper telephone numbers to validate the name of the individual who sits at that phone. - Call for Artists. Cooper is partnering with the Souls Shot Portrait Project, which pairs artists with the loved ones and friends of victims of gun violence. - iPhone Users and M365. If you’re an iPhone user who syncs contacts through mail, there are a few easy steps you need to take ahead of your email migration date to ensure that you do not temporarily lose your contacts. - Be heard. The Culture of Safety survey is here. All clinical hospital employees will receive this anonymous survey. Units with the greatest survey participation rates will be eligible for prizes. For more information about the survey and our HRO journey, click here.
- The food truck schedule is ALWAYS available on the Pulse homepage under Team Member Resources with vendor locations, times, and menus for the month. On the calendar, click on the name of the vendor to view the menu.
- Regulatory and compliance program for 2022. You must complete the assigned courses by October 6, 2022. Click here to request credit for training completed at another facility, and check the last selection under Request Type: Update participant course status/attendance (i.e., mark complete). Attach proof of course completion.
COVID Updates:
- COVID-19 Bivalent Boosters Available at Cooper Starting Tomorrow. The FDA, CDC and New Jersey Department of Health are recommending COVID-19 bivalent booster shots for individuals ages 12 and older, at least two months after their most recent booster or primary series.
- The bivalent booster vaccine has the ability to make antibodies against the original COVID-19 and omicron strains. It is projected that the bivalent immunization will prevent substantial hospitalization and death during the coming winter months.
- Cooper will begin offering the bivalent booster at the vaccine tent in Camden beginning tomorrow, September 8, and at all ambulatory locations beginning Friday, September 9. - Today, New Jersey reported another 1,348 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 15 new confirmed deaths. The seven-day average for confirmed positive tests was 1,303, a 20% decrease from a week ago and a 47% decrease from a month ago. For more information, click here.
