Dear Cooper Team:
It’s hard to believe, but this is our last update for 2023. We thank you for your tireless efforts in serving patients, visitors, and fellow Cooper team members throughout the year.
We know that in many respects, 2023 was a difficult year. Health systems across the country as well as Cooper experienced staffing challenges, high patient volumes, and increasing workplace violence. Around the world there are ongoing wars and conflicts where thousands of innocent people, including health care workers, are dying. Given Cooper’s mission and our team’s dedication to caring for others, all these difficulties have added stress to our daily lives. We recognize this added burden. It is our sincere hope that in 2024, these challenges will lessen, and that peace will flourish across the world.
These are challenging times. As team members, let us continue to do our best to treat each other, and those we care for, as we would want to be treated. If you are struggling and would like to speak to someone, you can call The Employee Assistance Program at 800-437-0911. Additionally, if you feel unsafe or see something amiss, call Cooper Security at 856-342-2400.
Looking Forward to 2024
We are excited about 2024. We have several initiatives planned to address a number of the challenges facing health systems across the country, including continued High Reliability Organization (HRO) work, quality and patient safety initiatives, focus on throughput, expanding access, and enhancements to security across the health system to name just a few. Additionally, we are looking forward to Cape Regional Health System becoming part of Cooper in the first half of the year, opening of phase two of the Moorestown Campus in the first quarter, and the expansion of our Camden Campus.
Cooper’s successes to date and the exciting plans for the coming year are only possible because of your dedication, commitment, and teamwork. Thank you.
We wish you all a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year.
