You may have noticed that emails coming from outside of Cooper have a new orange alert banner. The new banner clearly highlights the sender’s email address. If you do not know the sender, you should not click on attachments or links in that email until you confirm that it is a legitimate email.
The number of cyber attacks on health systems continues to increase. Recently, a few health systems in New Jersey were successfully attacked.
We have made this change to help you stay vigilant when opening emails from outside of Cooper. Remember, that it only takes one mistake for bad actors to attack our IT systems and potentially shut down our operations and ability to care for our patients. Please remain diligent and do not open any attachments or links from unfamiliar senders.
