What You Should Know This Week:  

  • This week, through June 21, 2023, Cooper is celebrating our nursing associates (NAs), companions, and patient care technicians in Patient Care Services at Cooper. We thank you for all you do for our patients and hope you’ll enjoy our thanks throughout the week! Click here for a schedule of events.
  • Last week, Cooper Graduate Medical Education celebrated 142 graduates of our residency and fellowship training programs. Of these graduating physicians, 25 will remain at Cooper as attending physicians in their specialties and seven will continue their fellowship training at Cooper. Congratulations to the graduates!   • Another Cooper First. Cooper is proud to be the first hospital in the country to use Viz Aortic, an artificial intelligence-powered software designed to detect abdominal aortic aneurysms. The cutting-edge technology will help physicians identify patients with undiagnosed abdominal aortic aneurysms, potentially saving lives. To read more, click here.
  • This week is Men’s Health Week. The focus of this annual observance is to create awareness of preventable health problems that men face and increase early detection and treatment. During this month, we encourage men to make their health a priority. To learn about prostate health concerns, one the most common issues men have as they age, from Allen D.   • Juneteenth, which is recognized nationally on June 19, marks the end of the institution of slavery in the United States. This year, Cooper is proud to sponsor several Juneteenth celebrations taking place in Camden and surrounding communities on Saturday, June 17, 2023. For event details, click here.
  • Faster Food. Beginning today, the Cooper Court Cafeteria will offer self-service checkout. To read more, click here.
  • New Rewards Feature – Cooper Bucks. Click here to learn how you can convert your earned medallions on the Cooper Rewards portal to Cooper Bucks that can be used to purchase Cooper merchandise in the Cooper Store.
  • Did you know that Carebridge, Cooper’s employee assistance program, is offering several free, online support sessions through the remainder of June 2023? Click here to view the sessions.

Reminders:

  • This summer we will be transitioning to iCooper for HR, Finance, and Supply Chain functions. Please carefully read all communication coming from the iCooper mailbox, which will provide important details about upcoming deadlines.
  • Personal Safety Training Now Available. Your safety and our patients’ safety is a top priority. As part of a number of security measures we are undertaking to keep you safe, we are offering Hospital Assault Response and Prevention (HARP) classes, which are now on the Cooper Learning Network (CLN). HARP provides a variety of safety training techniques to protect you from workplace violence. Please sign up.
  • Mandatory education assignments were sent out and are due September 6, 2023. This year’s training has been revamped to reduce the number of modules and make compliance with the law as efficient and effective as possible.
  • Cooper has celebrated Pride Month by sponsoring and participating in a variety of local events throughout June. Be sure to join us at our final event, the Camden County Pride Walk, on Friday, June 30, from 3 p.m to 7 p.m. at Wiggins Park.
