Universal Masking on Kelemen 8 North Effective Immediately

Dear Colleagues,

Three patients during their stay on Kelemen 8 North in recent days have become symptomatic and tested positive for COVID-19. In accordance with our masking policy of May 8, 2023, and effective immediately, the cluster of COVID-19 cases requires universal masking on Kelemen 8 North ONLY. Therefore, team members and visitors must wear masks at all times when entering, working on, or visiting the Kelemen 8 North unit.

In accordance with our policies, we are testing patients who may have been exposed for COVID-19, identifying team members who may have been exposed to these patients, quarantining exposed patients, and isolating COVID-19 positive patients.

As a reminder, all team members who have Influenza-like Illness (ILI) or COVID-19-like symptoms are required to contact their direct supervisor and employee health prior to coming to work for further instructions. Additionally, all team members and visitors are required to wear a mask at all times in Cooper facilities, if they:

1.  Have upper respiratory symptoms consistent with ILI and have tested negative for COVID-19.

2.  Have had a known exposure to COVID-19 within the last 10 days.

3.  Are within 10-20 days after a COVID-19 infection, or

4.  Are recovering from an upper respiratory infection.

If you have any questions, please email Dr. Raquel Nahra.

Please cascade this information to your team members.

Thank you for your continued outstanding care of our Cooper patients.
