  • Cooper’s own internationally-known stroke expert Tudor G. Jovin, MD, Medical Director of the Cooper Neurological Institute at Cooper University Health Care and Professor of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, is the lead author in a study that recently published in The Lancet, one of the world’s leading medical journals, demonstrating the benefit of performing a thrombectomy on stroke patients beyond six hours of the onset of symptoms compared to medical therapy alone.   • Congratulations to Cooper’s Kathy Devine, DrNP, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, who is the winner of the 2021 Nurse Executive Award from the Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey.   • Great news, the new Medical School Garage opened today allowing more Cooper team members to park closer to the hospital. We appreciate everyone’s support and cooperation with the new parking assignments to ensure we provide enough parking for our patients and visitors.   • Cooper’s annual winter coat drive is here just in time for the season of giving. The Population Health team is collecting new coats for all ages to benefit families in the city of Camden. From November 22 through December 3, 2021, donation bins will be available. For Cooper drop-off locations and more information, click here.
  • This week, in honor of Perioperative Nurses Week, we recognize Cooper’s perioperative nurses for integral role they play before, during, and after surgical procedures. They work alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurse practitioners to ensure that surgical procedures run smoothly, and relay vital communications about patient care to other nurses and the medical staff. Thank you to all of our perioperative nurses for all of the great work that you do for our patients.
  • Antibiotic Awareness Week is an annual observance that highlights the threat of antibiotic resistance and the importance of appropriate antibiotic use. Click here to learn more.

  • PTO sell back is open NOW through November 29, 2021. The November payout will be based on PTO accrued as of the pay period ending November 20, 2021, and payment will be made on Friday, December 3, 2021. Click here to learn more.
  • The deadline for flu 2021 vaccination compliance is December 6, 2021. Please review the information here to ensure you are compliant.  Click here for the schedule. Flu shots are not being offered in the Kelemen tent or booster pop-up clinics, which are exclusively for COVID-19 vaccines.
  • COVID-19 booster shots: Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J boosters are available in the Kelemen Circle tent, ambulatory offices, and retail locations. To schedule your booster shot, visit myCooper. Vaccines and boosters are also available at Camden County College in Blackwood on Tuesdays and Thursdays and can also be scheduled on myCooper.
  • In partnership with the Camden County Coalition, Cooper will continue to host a COVID-19 Pop-up Vaccine Clinic at the Cherry Hill Mall. The clinic will be open the second weekend of every month, through April 2022, on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
