What You Should Know This Week:  

  • Patient Safety Awareness Week. While patient safety is a top priority every day, this week we are taking extra time to rededicate ourselves to reducing harm. Click here to see the list of activities you can participate in this week.
  • Expanded Radiation Oncology Services in Moorestown. MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper has expanded its footprint in South Jersey with the opening of a new, state-of-the-art radiation oncology suite at Cooper’s Moorestown Campus. This marks the fifth MD Anderson at Cooper radiation oncology treatment location in the region, bringing advanced cancer care close to home for more patients.   • Celebrating Cooper’s Dietitians. March is National Nutrition Month and today is Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day. Our dedicated dietitians play a vital role in helping patients make informed food choices, manage medical conditions, and live healthier lives. Click here to read more.

  • SDOH Hackathon Pitch Competition Winners. Cooper’s Innovation Center hosted its second Social Determinants of Health Hackathon, which included a pitch competition, an innovation showcase, and a reception on Friday, February 28, 2025. Click here to see the finalists and learn more.
  • New Service Desk Partner at Cooper Camden. Beginning Wednesday, March 26, 2025, if you call the IT Service Desk at 856.968.7166, the call will be answered by our new service desk provider, NTT Data. This change is part of a 2025 initiative to improve and expand IT support services for all Cooper team members. For more information, click here.

  • Last week, Cooper hosted the Academic Clinical Advisory Board, an annual forum that brings together regional nursing academic partners to discuss goals, successes, and student preparedness for the nursing workforce. Click here to read more.

  • Cape Microsoft 365 Migration. Beginning this week, the Cooper Cape team is moving to the Cooper Microsoft 365 environment for email, calendars, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Copilot and all other Microsoft 365 applications and functions.   • Weapons Screening System Now in Effect at Cooper University Hospital. In Q4 last year, we approved a new weapons screening system, like those used at sporting events and other public buildings, for Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Please allow a few extra minutes when entering the hospital as we learn the system. For more information, click here.

  • Advanced HAZMAT Life Support Courses in Camden. Please join us on April 8, 2025, for a four-hour course that trains health care professionals to medically manage patients with acute radiation syndrome and internal contamination with radionuclides.   • More Food and Coffee Options. The Cooper Court Cafeteria in Camden is expanding food and caffeine options. Additionally, the cafeteria grill is now open daily from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, click here.
