What You Should Know This Week:  

  • Cooper Named One of Forbes’ Top 200 Employers in U.S. We are pleased to announce this prestigious honor. For the past four years, Cooper has been listed as one of Forbes’ Best-in-State Employers in New Jersey, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in workplace excellence.   • Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care Team Celebrate 1,000th Surgery. In 2024, the Cardiac Care team completing more than 1,000 cardiac surgeries. This is the highest number of cardiac surgeries in South Jersey and the third highest in the state. The milestone reflects the tremendous dedication, skill, and teamwork of the entire Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care team, including surgeons, critical care intensivists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff.   • Schwartz Rounds: Moral Injury and Burnout in Health Care. Please join us for the next Schwartz Rounds on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from noon to 1 p.m. either in person at Cooper University Hospital, Conference Center, Room 121, or virtually. Click here for more information.
  • Road Work on Haddon Ave. in Camden. The City of Camden is repaving a section of Haddon Avenue this week. The work is taking place in the southbound lane approaching Washington Avenue in front of the Coriell Institute and the pedestrian crosswalk to the Sheridan Pavilion at Three Cooper Plaza. The road will not be closed, but expect delays.
  • ACGME 2025 Speaker. Dr. Stephen Trzeciak will be speaking at the inaugural Thomas J. Nasca Lecture at the 2025 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Conference this Saturday on The Science of Compassion in Medicine.
  • Advanced HAZMAT Life Support Courses in Camden. Please join us on April 8, 2025, for a four-hour course that trains health care professionals to medically manage patients with acute radiation syndrome and internal contamination with Radionuclides.   • Camden Lane Closures for Project Imagine. The sidewalks adjacent to Cooper’s new hospital tower construction site, one lane of MLK Boulevard, and the shoulder of Haddon Avenue that runs along the hospital campus are currently closed to public traffic. Click here to learn more.
