What You Should Know This Week:

  • Veterans Day Celebrations. All Cooper team members with current or prior military service are invited to attend, with their manager’s approval, this year’s Armed Services People of the Year events on Monday, November 11, 2024. Our celebrations will take place in both Camden and Cape May Court House. For more information, click here.
  • Cooper Medical Team Returns to Tanzania to Provide Medical Education. For the third consecutive year, a dedicated team of Cooper physicians traveled to Tanzania to offer advanced medical education. This recent visit marked the successful completion of the first phase of Cooper Critical Care’s three-year educational project, culminating in the launch of AFRI(Crit), Tanzania’s first-ever dedicated advanced critical care training course.   • Celebrating Team Member Success Through #everyBODYmoves. Congratulations to two Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion award winners committed to excellence in patient care: Pavilion 9 for being the Most Improved Unit and Pavilion 10 for being the Most Compliant Unit. During our Autumn Harvest campaign, we invite team members to submit patient success stories around activity and mobility before the campaign ends on November 15, 2024.   • Let Your Warmth Be Felt – Help Us Collect Winter Coats and More. Cooper’s Community Outreach team is collecting new coats, gloves, and blankets for adults and children from now until Friday, December 6, 2024. Click here to view the drop-off locations.
  • Cooper Nursing Celebrates New Professional Practice Model. The new model is a framework for how Cooper nurses practice, communicate, collaborate, and develop professionally. It incorporates the C.A.R.E.S. model, highlighting Cooper Nursing’s commitment to compassion, advocacy, reliability, engagement, and skill.   • Several groups of Cooper’s professionals are celebrated this week. We appreciate your dedication and the positive impact you have on our patients and their families:
    • National Radiologic Technology Week. This week we proudly celebrate the outstanding contributions of Cooper’s radiology technologists.   • November Is National Family Caregivers Month. Join Cooper’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Support Program on Wednesday, November 12, 2024, for a special webinar that provides valuable information and resources to help caregivers maintain their mental health and better support their loved ones with disabilities.   • Cooper Events From the Cape to Camden and Everywhere in Between. See them all here.
  • Hospital Assault Response and Prevention (HARP) Training. HARP training includes assault safety best practices, de-escalation strategies, protect-exit skills, and management techniques for handling volatile patients and visitors. Sessions are conducted in person at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Register through the Cooper Learning Network (CLN).
  • Revised Flu Clinic Schedule for Cooper University Hospital. Due to construction in the Kelemen building, all flu clinics previously scheduled in that building have moved to the Cooper Conference Center. Please click here for the updated schedule.
