Dear Cooper Team:

We hope everyone is having a healthy and safe week. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our patients, community, and one another. To our team members celebrating the Hindu Festival of Lights starting tomorrow, we wish you a happy Diwali.

What You Should Know This Week:

  • Presidential Election. Next Tuesday is Election Day. This year’s presidential election is very close and contentious. We ask each of you to be mindful of this when having conversations with colleagues. Our mission is to serve and care for everyone regardless of any differing political views that we might have with others. We ask that you be extra thoughtful during this period and refrain from any comments or discussions that may cause division or arguments.
  • Upcoming Kelemen Circle Closure. Starting Saturday, November 2, 2024, the Kelemen Circle roundabout at Cooper University Hospital in Camden will close temporarily for repaving. For the detailed schedule, click here.
  • Stephen Trzeciak, MD, Delivers Keynote at White Coat Ceremony. Last week, Dr. Stephen Trzeciak, Chairman and Chief of Cooper’ Department of Medicine and Medical Director of the Adult Health Institute, gave the keynote address at the 2024 Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University/Northwell Health White Coat Ceremony.   • Congratulations to Antoinette Fugee for Being Named Business Partner of the Year. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Antoinette Fugee, Workforce Development Consultant, for being selected as Business Partner of the Year by Camden County Technical Schools. Her dedication and exceptional leadership have greatly strengthened our partnership, equipping the next generation with essential skills and building a knowledgeable local workforce.
  • Saturday Colonoscopy Appointments Available. We are pleased to offer Saturday colonoscopy appointments at the Digestive Health Institute in Mount Laurel, specifically for Cooper team members. Regular screenings for colon cancer should begin at age 45, and early detection can significantly improve outcomes and save lives. Click here for more information.
  • Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere! Congratulations to our Cooper at Cape team on completing their 20th Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. To view the entries and award winners, click here. The deadline to submit a vote for Cooper’s all-team-member pumpkin decorating contest, “Which Witch Is Witch?”, is this Friday, November 1, 2024. Please cast your votes here.
  • National Pastoral Care Week. We want to extend our gratitude to our dedicated chaplains at our hospitals in Camden and Cape May Court House. The team achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever berth in the football playoffs, showcasing the hard work, dedication, and spirit of the Titans.   • Holiday Scrubs Are Back. During shifts that begin, end, or fall on holidays between now and January 2, 2025, team members are permitted to wear holiday-themed scrub tops with standard scrub pants. Remember to post your holiday scrub photos to Pulse+. For more information, click here.
  • Revised Flu Clinic Schedule for Cooper University Hospital. Due to construction in the Kelemen building, all flu clinics previously scheduled in that building have moved to the Cooper Conference Center. Please click here for the updated schedule.
