What You Should Know This Week:

  • Revised Flu Clinic Schedule for Cooper University Hospital. Due to construction in the Kelemen building, all flu clinics previously scheduled at Cooper University Hospital, Kelemen Building, Conference Room B (next to cafeteria) will move to the Cooper Conference Center starting October 21, 2024.   • New Job Training and Apprentice Program for Camden Residents. Last month, we announced an unprecedented partnership among Cooper, construction manager Torcon Inc. / P. Agnes, Inc., and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters to create job and economic opportunities for Camden residents as part of Cooper’s $3 billion expansion. Cooper will be mailing information about the new apprenticeship program involving multiple trade unions to Camden residents.   • New Weapons Detection System To Be Installed at Cooper University Hospital. In our ongoing efforts to enhance the safety of our team members, patients, and visitors, we are pleased to announce the installation of a new weapons screening system at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. If successful, we will implement this screening system at other facilities across the health system. We anticipate the system will be fully installed and operational by December.   • Congratulations to Cooper’s Nurse Excellence Council. Earlier this month, the Council received the Nursing Workplace Environment and Staffing Council’s Pillar Resilience Award for their project focusing on resilience. Click here to read more.
  • Celebrating World Anesthesia Day. Today, the world recognizes the vital role anesthesia plays in medicine. We thank Cooper’s dedicated Anesthesiology team for their expertise and all they do for our patients. Click here for more.
  • GO PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness. All team members are encouraged to wear pink this Friday, October 18, 2024, to show your support and help raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening. Reminders:

  • Cooper Events From the Cape to Camden and Everywhere in Between. See them all here.
  • Street Parking Reminder. Team members are reminded not to park their vehicles in the Cooper Plaza neighborhood surrounding the Camden Campus. This is a permit-parking-only area enforced by the Parking Authority of the City of Camden (PACC). Beginning October 21, 2024, PACC will begin strictly enforcing this regulation and you may be ticketed or towed for violations. If you need to register for Cooper parking, please contact the Parking Office at 856.342.2498 or email Parking-Office@cooperhealth.edu.
  • Share Your #everyBODYmoves Success Story. Cooper’s Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion team invites team members who are advancing the #everyBODYmoves initiative to share their patient success stories for recognition and a chance to win a pizza party.
