What You Should Know This Week:

  • Oops. We Did It Again. Yesterday, Cooper University Hospital Camden was named one of the top 10 hospitals in New Jersey in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals survey. Cooper is the highest-ranking hospital in southern New Jersey and among the elite 11% of U.S. hospitals that earned a numerical ranking. Additionally, Cooper was rated as a high-performing hospital nationally in 10 procedure and condition specialty areas.   • And Again. Cooper University Hospital Camden was named on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2024 again – making it the third consecutive year we’ve been on the list.   • MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Is #1 Again. We are pleased to share with you that MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, our partner, has again ranked number 1 in the nation for cancer care in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 “Best Hospitals” annual ranking.   • Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign at Cooper at Cape. New Cooper signage is going up at outpatient locations in Cape May County through the summer. When you spot a new sign where you work, take a selfie and post to Pulse+.
  • Subaru Loves to Care® Initiative Continues With $30K Donation to The Cooper Foundation. For the third year in a row, Subaru of America, Inc., has partnered with Cooper to bolster essential services and durable medical equipment for Camden-based patients. For more information, click here.
  • Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion Program Update. Last week, new Patient Care Services (PCS) team members were introduced to safe patient handling during their orientation as well as learning the importance of exercise and movement for patient recovery.   • Operation Back to School Has Returned. We need your help! With your generous donation, students at KIPP Cooper Norcross Charter School will receive they supplies they need for a successful school year. Click here to donate.
  • Construction Activity Near Sheridan Garage. Please be advised that construction work is underway near the Sheridan Garage entrance on Haddon Avenue in Camden. Equipment and personnel will be active in this area throughout the week and potentially into next week.  

Reminders:

  • Epic Build Freeze Coming This Fall. One of our top IT priorities this year is implementing Epic and Sunquest Lab platforms for Cooper at Cape, scheduled for October 1, 2024. To ensure a successful and timely implementation, we are instituting a system-wide Epic build freeze from September 1 to October 15, 2024. Click here to learn more.
  • Epic Training Registration Now Available for the Cooper at Cape Team. If you will be an Epic user and have not received an email with instructions on accessing the Cooper Learning Network or do not see training classes assigned to you, please contact your manager.
  • Calling All Climbers and Walkers. The Cooper Climbers Club and the Cooper Walkers Club encourage team members to stay physically active through monthly challenges. Participants can track their daily stair climbs or steps walked at work, home, and elsewhere for a chance to win prizes. Team members at all locations are eligible.
