- Genalyn Vargas, MSN, RN-BC, staff nurse in the Trauma Step Down Unit, was the recipient of the William A. Schwartz, Jr. Nurse of the Year Award.
- Roberts Pavilion 5, an inpatient oncology unit at Cooper, was named Team of the Year.
- Jeanne M. Greer, RN, BSN, CGRN, Director of Operations for Cooper’s Digestive Health Institute, was named the 2024 Gastroenterology (GI) Professional of the Year by the American Board of Certification for GI Nurses.

- New Partnership Aims to Reduce Nursing Shortage in New Jersey. Today marks the launch of the Thomas Edison State University (TESU) Accelerated BSN BAYADA Scholars Track at Cooper. This unique new partnership will allow TESU Accelerated BSN students to receive advanced clinical experience at Cooper and BAYADA Home Health Care. Additionally, students who meet certain requirements well have employment opportunities at Cooper after graduation. The partnership was announced at a press conference at Cooper this morning. - Cooper Achieves “High Performer” Status in 2024 LGBTQ+ HEI Report. This recognition, awarded by the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), honors Cooper’s unwavering commitment to providing inclusive and compassionate care to the LGBTQ+ community. Congratulations to our team. To read more, click here.

- Traffic Disruptions in Camden. We apologize for the traffic congestion caused by the work PSEG is conducting at the intersection of Haddon Avenue and Newton Avenue. Cooper was not given timely notice about the road closures. Our team is working with PSEG and Camden County Metro Police to relieve and shorten the duration of the congestion caused by this work. - May Is National Trauma Awareness Month. As the only Level I Trauma Center in South Jersey, Cooper University Health Care provides care for the most severely injured patients. On average, Cooper treats more than 5,000 trauma patients each year, making it the busiest trauma center in the greater Philadelphia region. - May Is Also National Stroke Awareness Month. Stroke kills nearly 150,000 of the 860,000 Americans who die of cardiovascular disease each year—that’s one in every 19 deaths from all causes. For information, click here.
