Dear Cooper Team:
We hope everyone is having a good week. Thank you for all you are doing to care for our patients, community, and each other. To those who celebrate, we wish you and your loved ones a Happy Passover.
What You Should Know This Week:
- Thank You, Administrative Professionals. Today, we honor Cooper’s many excellent administrative professionals who provide critical support through a variety of roles, including office managers, receptionists, administrative assistants, schedulers, and many more. We sincerely appreciate all you do to contribute to Cooper’s success.
- Cooper Cardiology Team Celebrates Two Firsts. Recently, Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care (CICC) physicians John A. Andriulli, DO, FACC, and Joseph A. Kuchler, MD, implanted New Jersey’s first FDA-approved Medtronic Aurora EV-ICD™, which detects and stops abnormal, rapid heartbeats (arrhythmias). Additionally, CICC’s Matthew L. Ortman, MD, led a team in launching the Biosense Webster CARTO V8.0 ELEVATE, making Cooper the first hospital in the state to introduce the latest generation of mapping and ablation technology for treating cardiac arrhythmias. - Cooper Teams Collaborate for Complex Craniotomy with the Patient Awake. Last week, members of Cooper and Inspira Neuroscience and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, led by neurosurgeon Navid Redjal, MD, FAANS, conducted a complex craniotomy to remove a cancerous tumor located near a patient’s critical speech area. The patient was awake throughout the surgery. To read more about this remarkable surgery, click here.
- April Is Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month. In a recent segment by Fox 29 news, interventional gastroenterologist Anthony Infantolino, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF, FASGE, reminds us why it’s important to understand the common symptoms of this disease, which is the sixth leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. - Next Week Is Patient Experience Week. Please be on the lookout for daily compassion challenges and a schedule of engaging activities.
- Construction To Affect Medical School Garage Access. Starting Monday, April 29, 2024, pavement milling near the Medical School Garage will affect traffic on Benson Street and Broadway for three to four weeks. While no roads will be closed, Camden County Metro Police will be present to assist with traffic control and detours.
- Help Improve Our Websites. Cooper is undertaking a complete redesign and rebuild of cooperhealth.org and cooperhealth.edu over the next year, and we need your feedback. Tell us how well you think our websites serve (or don’t serve) our patients, families, referrers, residents, fellows, job seekers, and anyone else who might use our two main public websites. Don’t be shy – we want to hear about where you think we can improve! Take the survey here.
- TODAY: Epic Hyperdrive Transition. As of today, all Cooper computers have made the Epic Hyperdrive transition, which replaces the previous Epic Classic client. For more information, click here.
Reminders:
- Tomorrow Is Bring Your Child to Work Day. Since we are in a health care setting, we cannot accommodate traditional “Bring Your Child to Work” days. Instead, Cooper’s organized program was designed as an alternative approach to foster family engagement and share our work environment in a structured way. Only parents and guardians who received communication that their child was approved to attend the program may bring their child to work tomorrow. We appreciate your cooperation.
